About the role:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Arts & Place Officer to join our team in a part-time capacitiy. Working closely with the Coordinator Arts & Place, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the City’s community events, arts programs, and placemaking initiatives. This role provides a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the cultural vibrancy of the City of Belmont while enjoying the flexibility of a part-time position. There will be the requirement to work and assist with Events that fall on evenings and/or on weekends, so please take this into consideration when applying as this is part of the role.
- Assisting in the coordination, promotion, and evaluation of community events, arts initiatives, and place activations.
- Engaging with internal teams, external suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure successful event execution.
- Undertaking research and surveys to understand community needs and expectations.
- Managing risk assessments, applying for necessary licenses and approvals, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Preparing grant and sponsorship submissions and acquittals.
- Encouraging participation from community groups, local businesses, and organisations in City events.
- Maintaining project management records and relevant databases.
- Supporting the delivery of the annual Art Awards and Exhibition, as well as arts education and placemaking programs.
- Assisting with marketing and promotion in collaboration with the Public Relations and Stakeholder Engagement team.
